Arriving by car

Sankt Wendel County is located just off the A1 and A62 autobahns.
Coming from the A1 Saarbrücken-Trier autobahn, exit at junction Primstal, regardless of your direction of travel. From there, make your way through Selbach to Lake Bostalsee.
Coming from the A62 autobahn interchange Nonnweiler heading towards Landstuhl-Pirmasens, exit at junction Nohfelden-Türkismühle. From there, make your way through Eckelhausen and Bosen to Lake Bostalsee.
Coming from Mannheim/Ludwigshafen, we recommend the A6 autobahn via Kaiserslautern, continuing on the A62 main road to Lake Bostalsee after exiting at junction Landstuhl.
Coming from the north, use the B41 Saarbrücken-Idar-Oberstein road to Nohfelden. From there, take the road heading in the direction of Türkismühle to Lake Bostalsee.
Coming from the south from Saarbrücken, drive to St. Wendel and then pass through Bliesen, Gronig and Selbach to Lake Bostalsee.
Regardless of your direction of travel, use the B269 Saarlouis-St. Wendel road, exiting at junction Theley before travelling through Selbach to Lake Bostalsee.
Take the B420 Ottweiler-Kusel road, regardless of your direction of travel, via Werschweiler to St. Wendel and from there travel through Bliesen, Gronig and Selbach to Lake Bostalsee.

Arriving by train

ICE and IC trains to Mannheim-Frankfurt, Stuttgart-Munich and Paris stop at Saarbrücken main station. There are also regular connections to and from Strasbourg and Metz. The high-speed TGV service to and from Paris takes 1 hour 48 minutes from Saarbrücken.
From Saarbrücken main station, you can take local trains to St. Wendel or Türkismühle on the Nahe Valley line heading in the direction of Bingerbrück/Mainz. There is a taxi rank at the station in St. Wendel (taxi Germany-wide: phone: 22456; area code not required, also when calling from a mobile device) and the central bus station (ZOB).
Bikes are allowed on local trains (Mon - Fri after 9 am and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). However, there is usually a limit of how many bikes can be carried. So, try to avoid the rush hour if you can and only take your bike on trains before or after peak periods.

How to find Lake Bostalsee: Coming from Saarbrücken-Ensheim heading in the direction of St. Ingbert: In St. Ingbert West take the A6 autobahn towards Mannheim, come off at junction Neunkirchen and join the A8 autobahn towards Trier before exiting at junction Saarbrücken and continuing on the A1 autobahn to junction Primstal.

How to find Lake Bostalsee: Take the A1 autobahn to Trier and follow the road signposted to Hermeskeil/B52/A1. Then take the A602 autobahn and exit at interchange Moseltaldreieck, continue on the A1 autobahn towards Koblenz/Saarbrücken. Exit at junction Nonnweiler, continue along the A62 autobahn and exit at junction Türkismühle. Travel through Eckelhausen and Bosen to Lake Bostalsee.

Distance to Lake Bostalsee: Approx. 58 kilometres.

How to find Lake Bostalsee: Take the B327 road (Hunsrückhöhenstrasse), bypassing Hochscheid and Morbach. After Morbach, turn off onto the B269 towards Birkenfeld and Idar-Oberstein. In Birkenfeld, drive through the town and then take the B41 towards Nohfelden and travel through Türkismühle and Gonnesweiler to Lake Bostalsee.
